Hi All,
I sprayed Testors Black Lacquer onto a stripped fibreglass blank to test e few things. I then scribed with a quill pen using Testors Enamel from the glass jar on the lacquer. When I applied a epoxy finish the entire finish had fish eyes! I did not put a clear coat over the lacquer sray paint. Could that be my problem? Lucky this was was done on a test piece of fibreglass I had. I tried searching this but could not find anything specific to this application. Thanks Chris Re: Fish Eyes!

Any time that you mix finishes, you need to test for compatibility. It sounds like you have discovered an incompatible finish.
Experiment to find the solution. Be safe Re: Fish Eyes!

Hi Roger
I actually tried a couple a couple different epoxies. Both had the same result. Very puzzling. Re: Fish Eyes!

Then the common denominator isn't the epoxy - it's the paint or the inscription ink.

Enamal paint usually takes about a week ( in warm temps ) to dry and even more
I would think that is why Try the laquer Then finish see if you get fisheyes give the laquer at least 24 hours Bill - willierods.com Re: Fish Eyes!

Thanks Guys. I think I need to stay away from the Testors Lacquer spray. I will do some trials with out it.

Chris,
You can try Krylon Spray paint. Normally this works well with few to no side effects. Be safe Re: Fish Eyes!
