Fenwick rod repair

I was changing the guides on a Fenwick 8'6" medium graphite spinning rod and broke it 2 feet from the tip while static testing to adjust the guide placement. What do you think would be the best repair technique? I'm planning to use a fiberglass tapered insert, epoxied and with a wrap 3 inches on either side of the break. Thanks. Re: Fenwick rod repair
