Hi all,
Just starting work on a st croix challenger from the 80's which is badly damaged. I need to cut the blank and either add new ferrules or make it a 1 piece rod by epoxying the sections together. Which would you recommend doing? Also St Croix do not supply the guides used in that rod anymore so does anyone know somewhere I can get these from? Last question is this rod worth putting lots of time and money into so I can sell on? Anyone know what one of these is worth? Thanks all Andi Robb Re: St croix challenger supplies

It has very little monetary value. If you do intend to sell it for whatever might be collector value, if possible, then you'd want it as near new original as possible which means using the correct parts. Still, I don't think it's something you'll come out on, at least if that's your goal with this rod.

You might want to explore what these rods have sold for recently before investing any time and money into them. On the other hand, if you're also doing it to practice your rod repair skills, that is another matter entirely - go for it. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
