Fellow SEARB Rod Churchwood got some stuff from Don Morse and Don has slipped in a lure for me which Rod posted to me. One of Don's lures is now mine!! A bottle cap spinner with a Fosters cap!! The Fosters business started at this years Expo where Don and I spent some time together. Still can't work out how the Foster's business got to me but it appears most people think all Ozzies only drink Foster's!! I still don't know anyone that drinks the stuff. It's not the worst beer ever made but a long way from what I prefer. Just goes to show what a good marketing campaign can do!!
In any case the lure is greatly appreciated and will get posted in my workshop, can't afford to loose that one.
Thanks for the thought Don and also to Rod for posting it on.
Goes to prove rodbuilders are a good bunch!!!!

Hope to go one day. Col it's funny you say that about fosters. When I was 21 went to USA for a month with some mates and when the bar staff found out we were Aussies they got us a fosters can, I think it was 750ml. first and last one I ever drank. Marketing is amazing huh

Funny how cultures have certain images of each other. A few years back we had an exchange teacher from Australia visiting us in the US. And of course someone introducing themselves to this person brought up the stereotypical imagery of Paul Hogan and Fosters beer. The gentleman just smiled and gave a well rehearsed response I am sure was given many times before intended to politely notify the offending US person of their stereotypical comment. The US person seeing the humor in the situation acknowledged their faux pas to which the Aussie responded something like "Don't worry, all you Americans think us Aussies are like Crocodile Dundee - and all us Aussies think you Americans are like Pee-wee Herman"!
