I have a question regarding a Tom Kirkman YouTube video instructing application of a urethane finish to carbon fiber grips. Tom makes a strong point not to use any solvent to clean the grip prior to application of the urethane. Unfortunately, I saw this AFTER doing just that (thinner) used to clean up the rod bond used in gluing the grip to the blank. What do I need to do at this point to prep the grip for application of PermaGloss (remove solvent residue)? Thanks. Re: Carbon Fiber Grip Finish

Just go over it with some Scotchbrite and apply the topcoat. You didn't ruin anything, you just don't want the last step in your preparation to be a solvent wipe.
