#7 Micro Tip

Guys what is the common thing to do when you are building a rod with Micro Guides but the tip is a #7 or bigger. Those bigger tips look awful funny with the small guide train. Does someone make tips for these bigger sized blanks? Any help is appriciated. Thanks

You can always just wrap on one of the single foot micros to use as a tip top. Works for me!

Especially when it comes to the tip, sometimes a rod is just better off with a bit larger and tougher tip, since the tip takes so much use and abuse from any typical user.

Bigger isn't always better. Many 6 ring tips are as strong as a size 4 tip but more easily damaged because there is more material to bend (break the same stick at 2" long and 6" long type theory). Also a size 6 is more apt to get banged, hung up, etc than a 4 just because of the larger size.

Kigan's tip is probably the best you will find. The bracing goes into the sides of the tube which allows no places for the line to hang. It's a very sturdy top. We have none come back that are bent. They are typically completely destroyed and mangled if they are damaged.
