hello, I am fairly new to rod building and was wondering what other peoples opinions were on these blanks. I am trying to decide between getting a fiberglass blank for crankin or getting a moderate action graphite blank. any feedback is great. thanks

Thy both work well, but the fiberglass is more forgiving and nearly impossible to break.

If you like a softer, more progressive action, then fiberglass is a good choice.
In Graphite, look at the Batson RX7 "CB" series.
Or, the Graphite "popping" blank series has been working well for us.
They come in the standard "SP" RX6 Graphite, The higher modulas "ISP" RX7, or the high end "XSP" RX8 Graphite.

Best wishes,

I prefer graphite because it is lighter and more sensitive, even in the slower CB actions, usually by quite a bit. As far as durability, I expect Ron is right about the Batson blanks, but if you go with off-brand cheap blanks, they are not all very durable. I suggest if you're going glass , get the good stuff.
