I have posted a picture of my current power wrapper base.
Since I prefer to keep my tools and light in one position when working on a rod, I roll the rod by my work station. To do this, I added skate board ball bearings to the lower inside edges of my power wrapper U channel base. But after adding the bearings, I found that the wrapper rolled so easily that it was rolling out of position, as I worked. So, I added a pair of "brakes" to the wrapper base in the form of threaded carriage bolts. Holes were drilled and threaded through the base of the U channel. The carriage bolt was threaded through the holes. Chair leg rubber tips were put on the ends of the carriage bolts to act as brake pads against the work bench surface. Then, knobs were added to the top side of the "brake shafts" to actuate the brakes. So, if you have to room and bench length to let you roll the wrapper by your work station, this is a simple method to make it happen. You do need space and work bench length that is nearly double the length of your power wrapper to le this happen. [www.rodbuilding.org] Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
