I am putting together two North Fork Composite float blanks: one FLOAT 1363 (IM) 13'6" intermediate modulus and one FLOAT 1364 (HM) 13'6" high modulus. These will be built as spinning rods to be used as bobber and eggs rods for springers. I have two questions if I may:
1. I am debating between a Fuji SKSS split spinning reel seat with graphite nylon hoods versus the standard Fuji DPSM standard graphite spinning reel seat. Which one would you guys choose for this particular rod? 2. The blank diameter where the reel seat will go is 0.45". Should I go with a size 16 reel seat or a size 17 reel seat? Thank you in advance for all of your guys' assistance!!!!!!!! Re: Fuji SKSS Split Spinning Reel Seat vs Fuji DPSM Standard Spinning Reel Seat & Size questions

I see 0 reason for a split spinning reel seat for a float rod.
The float is the sensitive part of the equation, so the split reel seat is getting you essentially nothing with respect to the fishing system. For any rod like this, I think it just makes a lot more sense to go with a size 17 reel seat. Simply put, the size 17 reel seats are more comfortable. Thank you Roger. I will go with size 17 reel seat for sure then. I love the look of the split reel seat but not quite sure how comfortable it feels compared to the one-piece reel seats. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
