I'm planning on doing my first spiral wrap. My question is this, there are several charts that are on the market that suggest guide spacing for a particular length rod. Should I follow the same spacing when doing a spiral? Spend some, save some, give some away!!! :-) Re: Spiral wrap guides and spacing

I can hear the hinges of Pandora's Box squeaking...
Read the Library and learn how to do your own static test...then read about how to do a simple spiral. Re: Spiral wrap guides and spacing

Arthur,
Simply put - set up the guides as if you were making a spinning rod. Just take the 2nd guide, rotate it 90 degrees and you will be set. With a spiral guide no need for large guides after the first one. Re: Spiral wrap guides and spacing

Hi Arthur,
X2 on Jay's comment, learn to use the static test and get the blank set up so it is evenly loaded. There are several different spiral wraps and you need to pick what suits you needs. They range from no transition guides to three. Personally I prefer three transition guides but to each his own.
