Castaway XP3 874, if you want the extra 3 inches you can extend the blank pretty easy. Re: Frog Rod

ive looked at the XP3 874. not too confident that it'll be able to handle the 2-4oz baits... Re: Frog Rod

Cheng,
the MB905-MHX will handle the size baits you are talking about. [www.mudhole.com] Regards, Todd Vivian Mud Hole Custom Tackle todd@mudhole.com Re: Frog Rod

Before you buy a blank you may just want to weigh those frogs. All of my customers are using a MB 874 MHX and I have a ton of them out there . Has a great tip for distance and plenty of backbone.

If you are after the type of blank you could fish 50-65# braid on and yank fish out of the weeds.....you might take a look at the castaway BB2.
I have never fished for snakeheads but we have a number of non-native invasive fish in my area. Some of them are very tough fighting fish and require a lot more rod than fresh water guys would normally use. Russ in Hollywood, FL. Re: Frog Rod

You may want to take a look at some of the muskie blanks out there. Specifically the Lamiglas LGM96-1H and St Croix 4m80MHF. The Lami blank has a softer tip. St. Croix's 8' H in the Avid Inshore lineup would also be a good choice. When I'm throwing 4oz, I prefer a rod rated to at least 6oz which is why I recommended the musky blanks.
I'd be very hesitant to use any of the bass sticks that are rated to 1 or 1.5oz. jeremy Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/28/2013 06:42PM by Jeremy Wagner. Re: Frog Rod
