I have just glued some thin plastic to a cork pre-made handle I had ( got on sale ) with contact cement turned it after letting it sit for a day Wanted to make sure it was dry
I have no idea why builders are saying use this glue that glue
the contact cement works really nice
Got a piece with some eva strips glued up The eva is a little soft -(Need Billy's hard strips ) but the contact cement works

Bill,

I've used Flex Coat Rod Builders epoxy with good results gluing poker chips in Tennessee handles. I got the best results by roughing up the chips first.

I'll try your contact cement idea later this week.

Have a great week.

i washed the plastic with alcohol and then sanded it with 220 dry Holds pretty good just make sure it is aliened I put a hole in the plastic when the first piece was glued on then slid the pieces together on a well fitting piece of scrap blank to alien them -- Two coats of glue

Blocks will be a lot easier

I would use regular 2-pt epoxy for any plastic to cork joint.

Ken

For just rings yes I can put pressure on them vi a threaded rod
But what if I want to do ellipticals Pressure will make the pieces slid on each other and with the contact cement I can slid the pieces together on a arbor These are round Blocks will be easier

Unless --I use two sections of angle aluminum to hold the pieces square ??
