I started to rewrap a rod today. It is a 11' 3-6oz penn power stick. The reel seat need to be moved an inch or maybe even two. I could cut the reel seat off or extend the blank. I have an old blank that is a perfect match that I could cut and insert into the back. I would need to order another seat if I cut it off. What would you do?
Also, I saw a reference to a cork tape handle that a small gap was left to inlay a cord. Does anyone know how to do this? Re: extending a rod handle

For two inches i would extend the rod and keep the seat That is not much at all
just clean all mating surfaces for a good bond Bill - willierods.com Re: extending a rod handle

have extended alot of ugli-stik customs, dang things are great heavers but only come in 9',i cut the EVA behind the seat about 6",then take the rest off.then insert a portion of blank or extension piece with another piece of EVA at the butt.epoxy all of it together well and do a nice dec wrap in the newly created split grip.normally try to get between 20" to 30" from the butt to the reel seat, depending on customer prefrence.as for the cork tape and cord,IDK,sorry, maybe somebody else will chime in www.southriverrodsllc.com Re: extending a rod handle
