Hey RodBoard I have a question for all of you. I am looking to build a personal light saltwater rod with a St. Croix SCIV Graphite Inshore Saltwater blank in the metallic Belize Blue finish but don't have the blank stocked with me. I was wondering if anyone has done rods with these blanks, because I can't quite tell what colors go with it from catalogs and online. What colors would you suggest. I am partial to gudebrod and Madeira threads. Thanks.

Also for the same rod chrome microwave guides or black ones? Im leaning to chrome but can't decide.

Dark blue and white is one of my favorite color choices for these.

Tyler,
If you like the look of the factory rods, give St. Croix a call and they will tell you the exact type, size and color thread that is being used on the factory rods for both main as well as trim colors.

X2 on the dark blue with white trim. Just did a fly version of St Croix's salt water blank in the same blue color. Looked awesome. A second choice would be burgundy (or the equivalent of gudebrod garnet #206) also with white trim. 3rd choice would be black with light blue trim.

Actually, rather than using white trim - metallic silver also makes an attractive look to go with dark blue.
