Hi Guys,
How are you installing these seats? Tape bushings or arbors? Thanks Chris Re: FUJI SK Skeletal Reel Seats

i have installed it using graphite arbor that include on reel seat kit before
after the rod bond cured, i test put a reel on it and i accidentally twisted the reel seat and the arbor broke(at trigger section) now i reinstalled using masking tape.it more heavy than arbor but i think it stronger Re: FUJI SK Skeletal Reel Seats

Ernest, I'm with you there. I haven't much success with those feather weight arbors. The heavier duty cork ones seem to be better and I've never had issues with tape.
Thanks to all for your advice. Much appreciated. Re: FUJI SK Skeletal Reel Seats

I don't like any arbor system that doesn't permit direct adhesion of the blank to the reel seat. You are then relying on the twisting resistance of the arbor material. Re: FUJI SK Skeletal Reel Seats

i have idea to cut the arbor to small ring and placing it on blank with some gap then fill the gap with rodbond
so the blank have direct contact with reel seat i'll test it in my next build Re: FUJI SK Skeletal Reel Seats

What I did was use a thin band of drywall mesh tape. I started from the rear piece, slid the winding check in place, coated all tape surfaces and the blank with adhesive. Then I slid the rear half of the reel seat in place and mated it with the winding check. I then installed the other winding check squeezing out the adhesive while slowly cleaning off the excess. I followed the same procedure with the front half with the exception that I used a wide popsicle stick to line up the two halves until the adhesive dried. Re: FUJI SK Skeletal Reel Seats

John/Ernest, good advice there. I will definitely use tape on the first one. Thanks again. Re: FUJI SK Skeletal Reel Seats
