I would like to purchase a Pac Bay power wrapper. Am going in the deep end with a power wrapper in 220v. Did contact a certain supplier in Florida but they want $180 shipping to europe. A bit over the top. Can you guys recommend another (board sponsor) supplier who would ship to Europe.

I think you'll need to contact the suppliers themselves. No one outside of those companies would be qualified to speak for those companies.

Graham,
One of the big issues that suppliers have in shipping to the Netherlands is the cost of the import Tariff. I might suggest that if you can find a supplier of a top quality wrapper in one of the European Common Market countries, you would save all of the customs, and much of the freight charges to receive such a nice wrapper. Another option, and it might be the best one, would be to build one yourself locally from locally obtained parts. Basically a wrapper consists of a base, 2-4 rod rests, a thread holder and a power unit. The bed can be as simple as a wooden board with a slot down the middle. The rod rests can be made from 3 pieces of aluminum screwed into a base of plastic or wood, with three rollers mounted on the ends of two of the arms. The power unit can be anything ranging from a sewing machine motor and a couple sets of pulleys, shafts, and belts to a more deluxe version with a gear motor and an electronics box. Good luck p.s. - If you would decide to build your own and need help, you can always drop me an e-mail at hflier@comcast.net Roger Re: Pac Bay Power Wrapper 220V

Chris,
Good one. Since this is in the ECM, there should be no tarrif, and minimal postage, since it is just a short distance from the final destination. Roger Re: Pac Bay Power Wrapper 220V

Thanks very much everbody. Found a European supplier who can supply one right away. Next weekend I will be building me some rods. Or at least I am giving it a go. Have a couple of blanks ready to be build and a number of surfcasting rods who need a rebuild or modification. Re: Pac Bay Power Wrapper 220V
