I have a cork handle with an inlet diameter alittle larger than my reel seat diameter. Can I use tape on the reel seat to make up the difference in size? Re: Using a larger cork inlet diameter and smaller reel seat diameter

I don't see why not. If you use thin tape it shouldn't be visible when inserted all the way. I would use strips of tape smaller than the width of the reel seat insert area. You might be able to see a gap if looked at closely though. David Dosser Coshocton, OH Re: Using a larger cork inlet diameter and smaller reel seat diameter

For fit and finish, as long as the reel seat lip covers the gap, you should be good. You might consider using thread to close the gap instead of tape, although the structural bond requirement is less of an issue here.

Be sure it is well sealed with the epoxy so that moisture cannot enter the gap. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
