Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Really depends on the material the decal is made from. PG has a couple of pretty hot solvents in it and can melt or distort some decals if they're not sealed.

PG will stay water white clear forever, but you're going to have to seal those decals in most cases.

Use your wife's laquer based hair spray. A quick shot of that, wait an hour and another quick shot. Next day apply the PG. Works like a charm. Re: Perma Gloss

Back around 1982 I proved to Dale Clemens at a seminar for RodCrafters here in WA, that I could make his Brilliance CP by useing Elemers White glue and water. He was amazed when I proved it to him. There isn't much I haven't tried. Some tihings with success and some with disaster. That is how we learn. When we learn, then pass it on, we are doing our best. :>) Re: Perma Gloss

Clemens Brilliance was not an acrylic like the Flex Coat and Trondak products (which are the same).

In the 1980"s Flex coat was acrylic just like Brilliance. I don't know what it is now. Re: Perma Gloss

I use Krylon Matte or clear; 3 coats. Then apply the decal and use 1 coat of CP around the edges only. I use both waterslide and peel n stick media printed on an inkjet. David Dosser Coshocton, OH Re: Perma Gloss

I have certainly never heard of the Elmer's as a CP. That's a trip. BTW, do you know how to get in contact with Dale Clemens these days?
