Greensboro to Winston-Salem

The closest I can get to Winston-Salem by air is Greensboro and the Embassy Suites doesn't have a shuttle service. They recommended "Door to Door Transportation Company" so I called them to discover that it's $100 round trip. It's ironic that the round trip air fare from Hartford, CT to Greensboro, NC is $400 and a round trip car ride from Greensboro to Winston-Salem is $100. I'm really not cheap but I would rather spend most of the $100 car ride at the Expo. Anybody have an alternative transportation suggestion.

The airport used to have shuttles. Here's a link to transportation services at the airport, ask them ... [www.flyfrompti.com]

The Greensboro Airport has shuttle services. Often there will be others arriving that you may be able to share the costs with, if you are arriving Friday afternoon or evening, maybe even Saturday AM.

Don,

I just checked hotwire.com and they had a compact car for rent from the Greensboro airport for $15.95 a day from Friday at noon to Sunday at 3pm. With everything it was $68.00 total. I do not know your times so I guessed. I have rented from them many times and find it very conveinent and inexpensive. At times the prices will go up but if keep checking back you can find a good deal. It beats a shuttle and you have a car for the weekend.

Ron.

Greensboro, Winston Salem and High Point all share the same airport. You're talking about a fifteen minute ride from the airport to downtown Winston Salem (or Greensboro or High Point). I think the air port cabs make the trip to any of the cities for $40.
