Angler's Workshop lists 15 to 20 different types of xmg 50 blanks. Which do you want? Re: lamiglas xmg50

A blank that length sounds like maybe a popping rod blank. They quit making them, but I think Mudhole gets a bulk order of 4 powers from time to time.
The ESH 91 1MH was produced back almost 10 years, 15-40 lb rated backbouncing blank. The stiffest I know of now is the LMB 845 which though discontinued was still available at Angler's Workshop, they had 2 at the time I last spoke to them. Re: lamiglas xmg50

I picked up one at Lamiglas when visiting out there. It's an LMB895. It is deep red or maroon in color and 7' 5" in length. It measured about the same in power as the Castaway BB1, but has a slightly slower tip (by about 3 degrees). I plan to build it as a slop/frog rod. _________________________________________ "Angling is extremely time consuming. That's sort of the whole point." - Thomas McGuane Re: lamiglas xmg50

Sounds like you may have picked up on of the prototype blanks, as I've never seen that number before. 2-3 years ago I picked up some LSJ 901 spin jig blanks that I haven't seen in the catalog either, they were also finished in maroon.
Last year they had some 10-20 lb, 10 1/2 ft XMG 50 blanks that never saw a catalog in the US, though they may have been built for some shop or maybe a prototype for Canadian salmon/steelhead anglers where that length is pretty popular. Could be a prototype. This was 2 1/2 years ago. They had a bunch of rods and blanks on a rack in the store. They had about 6 or 8 of the LMB895s marked $25. _________________________________________ "Angling is extremely time consuming. That's sort of the whole point." - Thomas McGuane Re: lamiglas xmg50

the maroon blank i bought off the net was a specialty rod that lami had made for someone that was makin a bunch of rods and had a couple blanks left over. might have been some type of poppin rod in the md heavy to heavy range. i wish they would start makin this blank again(XMG50) in the mag bass.
