Just received 2 Batson blanks the SUR1385 is rated for
2 to6oz want to throw 4oz. SUR1204 these are rated 3/4 to 4 want to throw 2oz. These rods seem to be very stout for throwing the weight I desire ,Anyone have any experience with these rods?

You should be able to tie a weight on the end of the blank and get a feel for how well it would throw that 2oz. No doubt it will do it but might take more power from the fisherman than the 4oz. would.

if you are casting bait you must also include the weight of your bait. I have SUR 1386's and have cast down to 2 oz and bait

Hi Maryann,
I'd mock up with tape and sling some weights to feel for yourself. Takes a bit of time but you get to feel the answer to your question.
