Batson Rainshadow SUR 1265 Gides -reel seat are all your choice, spacing is best found by Static deflection testing. Batson's site has starting spacing charts. Start with a double foot and change over to Singles on top for lighter weight Re: surf rod

David,
I built one using a Carolina Cast Pro blank, and I am real happy with it. I have a friend who I fish with from time to time who also built one, and he too likes the blanks. Mudhole carries them or you can buy them dirrect from Tommy Farmer. Guides and seat can be anything your heart desires after you pick spinning rod or casting rod. One thing I like to do is, instead of using the thin cork for handles on my surf rods, is to wrap them with tuna cord instead. I buy straight from Atwood Rope, although some sponcers on the board may carry it. Atwood calls it 1/16 inch utillity rope. By the way, Get Bit Outdoors has the above mentioned Baston blank on sale: [www.getbitoutdoors.com] Chuck Re: surf rod

You may want to take a look at the Lamiglas GSB 168 2ML (2 to 4 ounces) for the pompano and whiting. The GSB 156 2M is slightly more powerful and is reated 3 to 5 ounces. Don Becker Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
