A few years back I built a B-Flat rod with short, monochromatic (but tight) guide wraps. Now I have some time on my hands and intend to add a label and trim wraps to the existing guide wraps. I intend to cuff up the old wraps with scotch bright before I add trim wraps. Would I be better off putting a coat of CP over the new trim wraps and the old epoxy guide wraps before I cover both with a new layer of epoxy, or skip the CP and epoxy directly over new and old? No need for the CP unless you want it to maintain the new thread color. CP on top of epoxy is not a good idea as it prohibit any bonding of the two epoxy layers. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
