That sounds like a tall order.
The blanks from Batson that might work for you are either the RDR, BP, or Surf. Here are some links; [www.schneidersrods.com] [www.schneidersrods.com] I have done a fair amount of that kind of fishing in the past, but never tried to pull divers that deep. We always used downriggers with "stack" releases for deep fishing, and divers down to maybe 20/30' You may already know that there is a tremendous strain put on the rod when pulling those. Also, my experience is that too stiff a blank will either result in pulling the hooks out of a Salmon's mouth, or straightening them due to the fish's violent head shakes. For that reason we did not use Graphite except in lighter powers. Hope this helps, Best wishes, Ron Schneider Schneider's Rod Shop Mountain Home, Arkansas [www.schneidersrods.com] mtnron40@yahoo.com 870-424-3381 Re: Suggestions for three Great Lakes Diver Rod Blanks

With today's blank designs and designed placement of guides on ferrules there is little if any tangible difference between a one-piece rod and a multi-piece rod. Fly fishers seem to have accepted this reality, and unlike other anglers the power/action/harmonics of a fly rod are far more important considerations for a fly caster than the fly reel. Why is it that blank manufacturers make so many one piece 8 to 13 foot (non- fly rod) blanks and relatively few multi-piece blanks? For most anglers the supposed status of a one piece blank is far outweighed by the ease of transporting, shipping, and protecting multi-piece rods from damage.
