Thank you all for all the wonderful suggestions on how I can solve my dilemma. I take them a very seriously and will act on them. ESFNEM Col thank you for reminding me that Im getting older and a bandaid is not going to cure my problem lol.Dennis thanks to you for offering the silk thread but right now I think stick to nylon. Roger your suggestions were very helpful. BUT, the second part of my question was what's the newest rage in nylon threads .Anyone have a particular brand they like. PS. I'm stick'en to A thread.

I don't know about a rage but have a look in you local sewing store as a lot of the embroidery thread is more than suitable for rodbuilding and they have some exceptional colours ranging from metallics though to multi coloured thread. Stuff like madeira, brother and mettler in the polyester ( stay away from rayon ) are good and there is probably a lot more. It's more than strong enough for guide wraps. Anything with a breaking strain over 0.75kg (11/2lbs) is ok for guide wraps. The only down side is the need for cp to overcome the silcon that they contain. I think it's a small price to pay for the oustanding colours that are available and the size is slightly smaller than "a" thread. At least you won't look out of place in a sewing store perusing through spools of thread!!!
