OK, got a question regarding out of the ordinary art decals for rod building. I've got a customer who would like something native american on his fly rod. Arrowheads, dream catchers, anything like that. I've searched and searched. Any of you have any sources for such, or any idea where I might look?
Thanks, Jerry Re: Rod Art

Ken, thanks. There is some really nice stuff on that site. Mike, I did the google thing all afternoon,,,,but just wasn't working my search correctly. Thanks to both of you. I not only found what I was looking for, but art that could possibly be used on future builds. Sometimes, ya just need another brain in the mix.
Again, thanks, Jerry Re: Rod Art

A Kokopelli is a great southwest native american symbol. They were sort of the "Pied Pipers" of the southwest navite american Hopi and Navajo cultures believed to bring fertility to families who were looking to have children. I often weave one on flyrods that I build in superstitious hopes that the fishing will be more "fruitful". There was a pretty decent Kokopelli weave pattern that I used once that was outlined in an old Rodcrafters Journal. I could probably dig it up and find the "left list" if you are interested. Torin, yes, I'd be very interested. My home is decorated in a southwest theme and I have Kokopellies. Why I never thought of looking for that symbol is beyond me. Probably because my customer was insisting on an arrowhead or dream weaver design. But again, yes, I'd be interested in that info from you for future use.

Found the old Rod Crafters Journal. The Kokopelli design pattern (by Jeff Nail of Minnesota) is listed as using 51 Design Threads by 27 rod revolutions, but I remeber that I plotted the pattern on graph paper and used 27 design threads by 51 rod revolutions instead. This was achieved by rotating my graph pattern 90 degrees - counterclockwise. Following is the left list for the 51 Design Thread pattern layout:
1. 3-4, 15-16 2. 3-4, 15-16, 23-24 3. 5-6, 13-16, 21-34 4. 5-6, 13-14, 20-38,46-51 5. 7-8, 11-12, 19-38, 46-51 6. 1-2, 7-8, 11-12, 18-26, 33-41, 44-47 7. 1-4, 9-13, 17-25, 33-41, 44-47 8. 3-6, 8-14, 16-25, 35-45 9. 5-25, 35-45 10. 1-2, 7-25, 35-36 11. 1-4, 7-18, 20-21, 24-25, 34-36 12. 3-17, 20-21, 25-26, 34-36 13. 5-17, 20-22, 25-26, 33-36 14. 7-17, 22-23, 26-27, 33-40 15. 8-16, 22-23, 26-27, 33-45 16. 9-15, 17-18, 21-22, 26-27, 33-46 17. 10-13, 17-18, 21-22, 26-27, 43-46 18. 19-20, 26-27, 45-46 19. 19-20, 25-26, 45-46 20. 21-22, 25-26, 45-46 21. 21-22, 25-26 22. 23-24 23. 23-24 24. 25-26 25. 25-26 26. 27-28 27. 27-28 I'm currently weaving another Kokopelli (of my own creation) that uses 39 design threads by 85 rod revolutions. I don't have a left list together for it just yet (I usually just use graph paper plots instead). I hope to have a pic of the weave posted in the Photo's website sometime next week.
