For the 4th year in a row Mud Hole Custom Tackle was proud to exhibit at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN. The National FFA Convention had over 56,000 attendees, from students to parents and advisors. Company employees exhibiting for Mud Hole entertained over 2,500 students with wrist bands stating “I LOVE ROD BUILDING†and informed several thousand people about the tackle crafting industry.
The economy has really taken a huge toll on the education front, it was very apparent this year, many teachers expressing their hardships for coming up with affordable ways to teach children interesting subjects. Many teachers told us about their budgets being cut in half and there classroom sizing going up. We explained to the teachers/advisors how Mud Hole's Tackle Crafting Education Program is affordable and the benefits of Rod Building and Tackle Crafting. To offset costs many schools use the tackle crafting items made by the students in the classroom as fundraising items in @#$%& and drawings. They then use the money generated to attend functions like State Fairs, State Convention and National Conventions and buy more tackle crafting items. Some have even started side businesses in repairing rods and building custom rods to order. Thereby making a school based tackle crafting program self-funding.
Mud Hole's Tackle Crafting Education Program is laid out in an easy format to help the teachers/advisors implement the program. Mud Hole offers a free step-by-step DVD, class syllabus laid out in several formats to better serve different time frames, quizzes, complete rod building kits, starter equipment kits and a loaner program for the larger equipment pieces like dryers that are needed. Making things easier for the teachers/advisors is the key in helping implement new programs/classes.
