Very happy to see this new board. I will be a regular here I am sure. I do have a question and it concerns blank color. I still favor white for all my rods. I can get fiberglass rods painted white but not graphite. White is the easiest rod color to wrap as it goes with everything. But you still never see white colored graphite blanks. Is there a particular reason for this? Or does it just not sell? The trend seems to be no paint or finish at alll for weight reasons but on saltwater rods I can't imagine we're talking all that much. I read the thread below about coloring and finishing blanks and I am almost ready to try my hand at some less expensive graphite popping rods I have in stock. If you manufacturers are looking for feedback here is some for you --- make us some graphite saltwater blanks in white. Re: blank colorq

I like white blanks also. I usually spray mine white with Dupont's Imron with a flex additive. It turns out great and I have had no problems. Jason Re: blank colorq

Most rod blank manufacturers will run other colors on a "special order" basis. They usually have a minimum quantity per color policy. Re: blank colorq

Speaking of which, Bob, if you ever do another run of Gloss Black Xcel blanks, please post to one of the boards. I missed it last time. Bob Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
