Does rod bond dry clear? Can I use it for covering guide wraps or is there a better option? Also, is it fine to use a polyurethane spray on gloss for the blank or should I get a different coating?
Thanks Re: Rod finishing

Rod Bond is an adhesive NOT a wrap covering epoxy! There epoxies specially made for covering the wraps. Use the "search" feature above to get information on coating a rod blank. Re: Rod finishing

As Phil pointed out, there are many better finishes to use for a blank than Poly or any similar product.
Do the search and locate the best products. Roger Re: Rod finishing

Rod bond doesn't dry clear. It's not made for coating threads.
Flex Coat, Threadmaster, and Pro Kote, to name a few are especially made for coating thread work. Most rods are either painted, clear coated or left unfinished but you can add a finish to your blanks if you want by using Lumiseal or Permagloss. Do a search for those two products and you'll find several ways to apply them to your blanks. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
