I was able to obtain some factory CF tubes at a very good price. I knew at the time of purchase they were prone to chipping with rough handling. I'm thinking of scuffing the surface and spraying with Spar Urethane. Another thought was a light coat of FG resin sanded smooth then a coat of Urethane. Before doing any experimenting I wanted to ask about other ideas. Not sure my PG or Lumiseal skills are up to par for this application. A spray coat of Urethane seems the easiest.
Thanks, Mike Re: Factory CF Tubes

if you can spray -- I would suggest an auto polyurethane clear It also comes in a water based And can be thinned
There is also an auto clear Two part in a can You push in a plug witch adds the hardener - then spray Get it set up for few to spray and use up the can Once the hardener is activated why wast it Bill - willierods.com Edited 1 time(s). Do you have the RodMaker article on finishing carbon fiber with PG or LumaSeal? It's a quick, 5 or 6 second procedure. It would require you to have a lathe or motorized rod wrapping machine, however.

Bill, thanks for the suggestions.
Tom, now you mention it, I do recall that article. I'll refer to my library. Thanks. Re: Factory CF Tubes

It will give you the most durable finish at the least amount of weight.
