19 inch sections for a 4 pce blank indicate quite a short rod, just under 6 ft total assembled length. That short a blank in 4 to 6 lb, really leaves you two options, the St. Croix SCII 60LF-4 and the Batson RX6 SB720-4. Both are light action 6 ft 4 piece with approximately 19.5 inch sections. You might try a Batson RX6 - F764-5. It is a 7'6", 5 piece, 4wt. That should come in around 19 inches depending on ferrule overlap. Check with Batson to see how long the sections are.
Opps, sorry, this is a fly blank. Rereading you post I see you want a spinning blank. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/22/2012 10:32AM by Bob Riggins. Re: 4pc. rod blank

That RX6 blank, F764-5 may be a good idea for UL use.
We have built UL rods on fly blanks for years. They seem to work even better if you need to finesse cast a live bait or very lite lure, since the rod loads so far into the blank. They also are a lot of fun when fighting a fish. The soft action is very foregiving on light line. I've landed Striped Bass up to 22# on 6# test on an 8', 5 wt rod built as a spinner. Here is a link; [www.schneidersrods.com] The actual measurement of the sections is 19" Best wishes, Ron Schneider Schneider's Rod Shop Mountain Home, Arkansas [www.schneidersrods.com] mtnron40@yahoo.com 870-424-3381 Re: 4pc. rod blank

I personally fish both of the blanks that Ted mentioned. You can't go wrong with either. St Croix offers a matching case for their blank. Re: 4pc. rod blank

If the customer would consider a six piece blank Cabela's has 71/2, 81/2, and 9 foot fly rod blanks which will build into fine UL spinning rods. The 81/2 foot blank breaks down into 17" sections. FYI: a four weight fly rod blank is designed to cast 120 grains of line weight, which is the equivalent a smidgen more than 1/4 ounce. The rod doesn't know whether it's casting 1/4 ounce of fly line or 1/4 ounce of Mepps spinner. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
