i want to build my 1st rod for my father b"day
here is my blank's spec: high modulus graphite length: 8' sec: 2pcs(mid joint) power: Hard action: Fast line test: 12-35lbs (just local asian's graphite blank so not to impotant if i mentioned the brand's name) here is the size fuji guide that I have: PLCSG: 12M; 12; 10; 8; 6; 6; 6; 6; 6; 6; 5.5 ;5.5 ;5.5; 5.5 MNST: 5,5 (top) (you want believe that i just spend less than $70 for this 15 SIC low rider guide) I want this rod use ring as small as possible with conventional setup (guide on top) so i'll eliminate 3 biggest size and will start from #8 anyone has experince with this ring on baitcasting setup before? how its cast? is it possible if i use #8x1; #6x6; #5.5x4 + 5'5 top without touching blank? note: -i knew you'll sugest me to do static test, I'll do it later when those packet ring arrive next week -this rod will use with frog lure and big buzz bait for giant snakehead so more stiff will be better regards Re: fuji LC frame on 8' baitcasting??

Get rid of the size 6's and go straight to the 5.5's for a straighter and smoother line path. This is assuming that you already know that the 5.5's will be properly sized for easily passing your line and any leader connections.
