High frame vs low frame

Ongoing debate with some fellow builders. On a float rod which gides are the preferred, LOW frame or HIGH frame, Just very curious as to the responses,Thanks

The last one I did, I mounted the reel and ran the line thru the tip top and used a cobination of guides to follow the straightest path with least drag. A running guide was tied as a top and final static testing gave final guide number and placement. So far so good.

A slight modification to Mike's post is to select a point where you want your running guides to end. Normally this is about the 1/3rd spot on the blank as measured down from the tip.

Then, put on a running guide at that point, and a tip on the rod. Then with your reel of choice, run the straight line from the top of the reel to the top of the running guide. This likely is a better straight path and more realistic than taking a straight line to the tip.
