G'day folks.
I am getting ready to build a couple spinning rods - 6 1/2 ft and a 7 ft. I am looking for a special reel seat configuration: The cork grip assembly has two metal bands that slide independently the length of the grip, this allows the reel to be seated up,down or any position needed on the straight cork grip for balance. These bands are usually one to one and a half inches wide and a sixteenth thick these measurements are approximate. I heard it called a 'Alabama' seat configuration. Does anyone know where to obtain this configuration? Thanks for your help. If people spent more time on important things, there would be a shortage of flyrods. Re: spinning rod reel seat

You are talking about a Tennessee handle, any rod building supplier should be able to help you out. ______________________________________ Super Tight Lines......Don Re: spinning rod reel seat

Tennessee handle. You can make your own with a straight cork grip and some friction tape. You can also contact Schneider's (vendor on left list) and inquire about purchasing a straight grip with store bought rings. Re: spinning rod reel seat

There are also colored "tapes" available at Mudhole, and tennis racquet overgrips are very nice, tacky, light. If you use tapes instead of the rings it will most likely be more secure and more comfortable. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
