Building a St. Croix 7'6" 5S76MF-G-10 for inshore jig fishing. I was hoping for a bit of help from the forum with thread color combinations for this rod. Just want something that looks good but not real flashy. Will be using the Fuji titanium concept guides. Not really thinking about micro but probably 6 and 7 fly guides. Is this still the way to go? I am looking for the longest possible casts from this rod and will either be using a Stella 4000 Fe or a 3000 Certate hyper custom again any advise would be appreciated since this will be my first build in 3 or 4 years. Hi there William havent done to many rods myself but i have built them all on st croixs for using with small shimanos.
I have tried to keep them simple and have used black with either a gold or silver metallic trim at the start and end of each guide and a spiral before the guide foot.Gold is my favourite goes well with the stellas.Looks good IMHO.Hope this helps cheers Ray Balmforth Figtree NSW Australia Re: Help with Color combinations and guide sizing for new build

I have used Gudebrod Light Green with a Gudebrod Silver Electra trim on St Croix Forest Green blanks and it looks pretty good. Re: Help with Color combinations and guide sizing for new build
