I have been looking at the video from Fuji, on the KR concept, they have the KL-H spinning guides which have a higher frame, and that they can successfully control the line through smaller size stripper guides, the ? is, on the butt guide, will it be the same as on the NGC concept, where the butt guide is half the diameter of the reel spool, since the KL-H have a higher frame and be moved closer to the reel seat, seems like on the video it was looking pretty small for a butt guide. if anyone knows what I am talking about, please email me, I am wanting to build a spinning rod, this will be only my 2nd one, all the rest are casting, I want to build this with the KR concept. but still learning. tight wraps all! The idea that the butt guide should be roughly 1/2 the size of the reel spool isn't set in stone. It's a good rule of thumb as a place to start. With smaller and more supple line, you may be able to employ a butt guide that is less than 1/2 the size of the spool diameter. More height would be required, of course.
In the end, you are the only person that can determine the best guide sizes for your rod. Find a good starting place, and then go out and cast a bit. Change up a little and cast some more. It can be fun and you'll learn a lot. .................... Re: KR concept, and the NGC concept?

Sounds good, I think I might try to put a smaller butt guide, I will just have to buy more then one size and experiment, thanks for the input, have a good one! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
