It’s summer time again and that can only mean one thing – Mud Hole Custom Tackle has been busy crisscrossing the USA visiting education conferences to “teach the teachers†the art of tackle crafting – rod building, lure building and fly tying. In total Mud Hole will travel to 12 states exposing tackle crafting to thousands of teachers and over a hundred thousand of students.
Todd Vivian is not only one of the best rod blank designers in the world, he loves to educate people about rod building and heads up Mud Hole's Education efforts (along with a long list of Mud Hole employees). He and Buzz Butters just returned from a 3 day rod building workshop for about 20 teachers at the WAAE event, see photos of the WAAE class at: [

Positive feedback about an education program from actual teachers speaks volumes about the quality of the presenters and Mud Hole’s overall program of getting tackle crafting into schools. The future of tackle crafting rests in the education of others, especially the younger generation – Todd and Buzz, great job! Next week Todd is off to Minnesota to do it all again.
