Summer Time Education

It’s summer time again and that can only mean one thing – Mud Hole Custom Tackle has been busy crisscrossing the USA visiting education conferences to “teach the teachers” the art of tackle crafting – rod building, lure building and fly tying. In total Mud Hole will travel to 12 states exposing tackle crafting to thousands of teachers and over a hundred thousand of students.

Todd Vivian is not only one of the best rod blank designers in the world, he loves to educate people about rod building and heads up Mud Hole's Education efforts (along with a long list of Mud Hole employees). He and Buzz Butters just returned from a 3 day rod building workshop for about 20 teachers at the WAAE event, see photos of the WAAE class at: [www.facebook.com] . Below is the feedback he received from the students (who were all teachers). Positive feedback about an education program from actual teachers speaks volumes about the quality of the presenters and Mud Hole’s overall program of getting tackle crafting into schools. The future of tackle crafting rests in the education of others, especially the younger generation – Todd and Buzz, great job! Next week Todd is off to Minnesota to do it all again.

If you have a public or private school, scout group, FFA Club or community group that would like to learn about rod building, contact Todd at todd@mudhole.com or read more about the education program Mud Hole Custom Tackle offers at [www.mudhole.com]

Todd,

Thank you again for presenting a workshop at the 95th annual Wisconsin Association of Agricultural Educator's Conference. Without individuals like you, we would not be able to provide these exciting opportunities for our instructors.
If you have any feedback regarding your experience with us, please email me back. We are constantly seeking to make our conference even better for years to come.
Below you will find the evaluation comments from your workshop. A (*) symbol means that it was a commonly occurring comment.
Once again, thank you for your participation in our conference. We hope to see you again next year (June 24-27th 2013) in Green Bay.

o Need to allow more time, a second more advanced session for next year would be great

Hi Gents,
Excellent work by Todd, Buzz and the rest of the Mudhole gang for taking the crafts out to the younger generation as some young blood is sorely needed in rodbuilding. Must be a costly exercise with the equipment, components and travelling required. Hope you get some return on your investment in the future. Have heard of a few classes in schools in this country but nothing like you guys are able to do. Something to look into to see what is going on now days.

What a great idea! Sure wish you guys were doing this 25 years ago. I'm just starting out now and it sure would have been nice to have about 25 years under my belt. Then again, I didn't have the temperament for it as a kid.
