I have a question about some of the thread art? It looks like they are on a four inch blank?I was wondering if that is for show or does that slide on the rod some how?I love the work I am just curious. Lone Wolf Rods "Keep your powder dry and your lines wet" God Bless Re: Thread Art

Sometimes builders will make thread wraps on short, scrap sections of rod blanks for demonstration or sample purposes.

Whenever i make a new weave pattern on graph paper, i always make up a sample weave of it on scrap piece of rod. I find it can help sometimes to get a customer wanting the design put on their rod. When they ask for a specific fish weave for instance and i show them just the enlarged pattern on the graph paper, i find that most can't appreciate what the design will look like on their rods. When i show them the sample of it, they can see exactly what they will be getting - the actual size and thread colours. Jersey, Channel Islands. (U.K.) Re: Thread Art
