I have a 15 year old St Croix Spinning rod with a Crushed Ferrule that I built for my Dad. I sent it back to the company asking for a replacement piece and they sent it back saying they did not have the piece. The rod has sentimental value and I would love fix it if possible. The the top section Female ferrule got crushed in the truck. Any idea on how this could be fixed? I though about buying an old-style metal ferrule and cutting out the crushed ferrule with a dremel and epoxying in the new ferrule. Any other ideas??? Re: Old St Croix Spinning Rod...Broken Ferrule

If you look at the repair article in the library, it will give you some instruction on how to create a new ferrule. You'll need some glass repair stock that you can fit to the upper and lower sections. It's not that difficult, as long as you have access to some repair material. Check yard sales for old glass rods.

Roscoe,
It would be quite simple to use standard repair techniques and make the rod a one piece rod. Roger Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
