6' 2wt fly rod options

Looking for some options for a 6' 2wt fly rod a relative in Co. has asked me to build for him. The only thing I have found is an Orivis model, but it is out of the set budget. Can anyone suggest any other?

Thanks in advance,
Ken

the rx6 has a 6ft6" that is a great blank in both 2 and 4pc. i have built quite a few and they are great and won't break the bank. if you go to 6ft6" you can find a selection from several manufacturers

Sevier makes a tiger eye color 6 ft 2/3 wt 2 piece and the price is right. Schneiders carries them (link to the left.) Batson makes an Rx8 6'2" 2 wt 2 pc. at a good price also.

Lots of 6'6" blanks in 2 wt. however. Lots of other people on here, so I'm sure there will be other suggestions.

Sevier also has a 4 piece in 6' 2 wt.

I have both the Sevier 6' 2/3wt and 6' 2wt in my personal arsenal and they both perform flawlessly even to the point of catching 5 - 7# carp on them.

Ken if you decide to go with the Batson RX8 blank, give them a call to make sure it is a 6'2" blank because the Cat# XF662-4 indicates to me that it is 6'6" 2weight 4piece. I have always wondered about this? I Have their 7'9" 3weight blank and it is now my GO-TO small stream rod!

I am finishing building up a St. Croix Imperial 6', 2 weight, 2 piece blank. Beautiful burgundy colored blank. Great little, light and responsive 2 weight. I turned my own cork handle that is shorter than normal (5 1/2") and put on a Struble D-2 S anodized aluminum handle with a cocobolo insert. Check out this link to the Fly Fish Ohio website on the Great two-weight shoot-out. [www.flyfishohio.com]
