Mudhole Customer Service

I recently had an issue with the white paint on one of the MHX blanks. I bought the rod last fall, hoping to build it for myself. Because of customer builds and other obligations, I was just getting around to build on it. Only now, I've decided to build it for an ALS donation rod coming up in mid June. Not expecting much, since it was bought so long ago, I contacted mudhole yesterday, offered to send pictures of the damaged area, and just asked what my options were. This morning I got an email showing where they are shipping out a new blank to replace it and another email explaining a new one is being sent. It's customer service like this is why I will to continue to use mudhole.

I've also used two other suppliers who had great customer support, Swampland Tackle, and Karen at Bingham Enterprises, and would highly recommend both of them as well. I know there are a number of other places that have excellent customer service, but I just haven't had the chance to order from them since I've only been building a year and a half.

I agree with your assessment of Mudhole's customer service. Last year I had ordered a 700 yd spool of mettalic silver pro wrap thread ($12.95). It was out of stock, so they substituted 7 rolls of 100 yds each ($3.95 x 12 = $47.40). So far, I have only ordered from Mudhole and @#$%& and they are both top-notch in customer service.

I too have also had exceptional service from them as well. I was loading a rod into the truck and broke off the top 3.5 inches of an MHX SJ720. It was replaced free of charge!! Phenominal service..

I don't mind ordering from Mudhole if only the darn postage wasn't so much to Australia. Shipping really kills the price of the products unless you're ordering heaps.

Forum readers have been extremely loyal to the Forum Sponsors.
The Sponsors have proven their appreciation of this with excellent customer service.
I believe this reflects the great job Tom Kirkman had done to maintain high standards of this venue.
We have much for which to be grateful.

Hi Ken,
I agree with a lot that has been said about Mudhole as their excellent. The Rodworks is now stocking their blanks and the pricing is very competive. If that works out then Ross may become a distributor of their products in Oz and that may offset some of the postage issues.

Just to add another example of Mudhole's excellent customer service:

I had built a MHX -MB843 rod for a customer and friend which was later stepped on by his co-angler and broken. I sent an e-mail to Mudhole explaining that the rod was stepped on and broken. This was obviously not a defect of the blank...just my customer's co-angler!

I received the following e-mail back from Bob McKamey at Mudhole:

Hello Don -- Thank You for contacting us at MudCustom TackleTackle. One thing that we certainly appreciate is “Honesty”. When a person comes forth and does tell the true story we will offer you a 50% discount from the purchase price you actually gave for the original blank. That blank will cost $33.95 plus the shipping. Just let me know if you would like to move forward with this, as the order cannot go thru the web-site for this offer. Thank You - Bob

Truly that was a pleasant surprise to me and my customer. I also would like to add my kudos for Karen at Bingham Enterprises who has always gone out of her way to provide prompt, speedy and amazing service!
