Hi. This is my first time here.. Sorry for my poor English.. :)
I am looking for a blank for snook. I want to use it to flip cast with plugs (not live baits). The action I like is moderate, not fast. I read here in the forum about SJ842 e SJ843, from MHX. This is really the best? Thanks. Re: Help - Blank for Snook - Baitcasting

I would suggest the CB845. Re: Help - Blank for Snook - Baitcasting

What are the differences between these blanks? Thanks. Re: Help - Blank for Snook - Baitcasting

Are you catching little snook?
Lighter would be CB843. The CB845 is NOT heavy at all, very responsive. Re: Help - Blank for Snook - Baitcasting

Yes, this blank is to fish little snook (until 2.5 kg) and cast little baits (5 to 10 grams). I have another blank, 17 lb (line weight), to fish bigger snooks. The difference between SJ843 and CB843 is just the action? Thanks. Re: Help - Blank for Snook - Baitcasting

NO, they are different blanks in other ways. The CB series is a nice choice for inshore. Re: Help - Blank for Snook - Baitcasting

The SJ blanks are fast action. The CB blanks are moderate. The CB 854, as Jim stated would be your best bet for what you're looking for. Re: Help - Blank for Snook - Baitcasting

I like CB845 too, but I need a blank to use with light plugs (5 - 10 grams). And I will use it in the mangrove structures, so I need a big pitch accuracy. Re: Help - Blank for Snook - Baitcasting

For accuracy, a shorter and faster blank would be the ticket. I actually use a 6'0" rod for such work ... skip casting. Re: Help - Blank for Snook - Baitcasting

I am not good at skip casting.. It´s a difficult technique. I usually do the flip cast. Here in Brazil we usually use a 5`3" blank with moderate action, to do this. The moderate blank "spits" the plug better than the fast. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
