Wtih a thickness of a mere .005 and an industrial grade 3M adhisive backing, it doesn't get any easier. Simply measure, cut, apply a little heat, and you're good to go. We suggest measuring by placing a tape ring around your blank at the 2 points where you want your abalone inlay to start and stop. Cut the tape rings off the blank, they now equal the diameter of the blank at beginning and end of your inlay. We prefer not to worry about the width of the abalone being exact, it is almost impossible to have them meet perfectly so we suggest adding 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch to each measurement. This method will result in an overlap but 'Max Flex' is paper thin and will not be detectable once you've applied your epoxy.
