The action (fast / slow), power, & length would depend on what you want to do with the rod. Example...most crank-bait rods are medium length say 7ft and have a moderate action.

Hi Gordon,
Depends on what you are using them for and what you or your customers preferences are. Todd Vivian at Mudhole and Lance at Swampland are both very good with customer service and know a lot about their blanks. Many of the others are also very good but I have no experience with them. Send out some emails or make some calls and someone will point you in the right direction.

The Col's advise is spot on Gordon.

Many of the blank and componant sellers would be very happy to help you pick out the right blanks and materials and advise you as you go.

Also, use the factory rods you are most happy with as a guide to the length, power, and action that suites you.
