Metallic Thread and CP

Ive never used metallic thread before and I also never use color preserver on any of my wraps. Im going to build a rod using metallic gold thread but would I need to use CP to keep it the same color or is it not going to change at all?

metallic threads do not require CP to retain color

Jacob,
you don't need CP to retain color. However, I like to use it on metallic wraps also as it seals out the air (to some degree) so there are a lot fewer bubbles coming out from the thread when finish is applied. If you are building a heavy duty rod with a lot of stress on the blanks go without CP so the finish does a better job of soaking through the threads and make sure to fill up that guide foot tunnel with finish no matter which technique you use.
