Hi everybody
I am chasing a couple of vertical (butterfly) jigging blanks. The first one is for PE 4 line jigging 100 - 200g in 40 - 60m of water. This rod will use a Shimano Talica 8 II reel. The second one is similiar but in spin form using a Daiwa Saltiga 4500H. I am currently looking at the Phenix Titan 563ML for conventional and the 606ML for the spin. Has anyone had any experience with these blanks or any other quality Jigging specific blanks. Thanks Stu Klose Re: Jigging Blanks

Stuart,
Those are excellent choices. I actually worked with Phenix to get these blanks to market. Should you have any questions, or need components and blanks, feel free to email me. I can get you set up with everything for the build. Kevin Kevin Knox ANGLER'S ENVY CUSTOM RODS QUEEN ANNE, MD 21657 #_#_#_#_# www.anglersenvy.com Re: Jigging Blanks

Stuart,
I am finishing up (2) Phenix Titans as we speak. A conventional 5'6" for a Tyrnos 12 II (TJX565MH 30-80) spiral wrapped, and then a 6' spinner(TJX605MH) for a Saragosa 18000. Kevin helped me with some great aluminum accesories and would recommend linking up with him for additional input or components. Really like the action so hope to break them in properly down in Hatteras in a couple of weeks on some yellowfin and blackfin. Re: Jigging Blanks

Hi Stu,
I am from Australia too and for our style of jigging, I would recommend blanks from the Xzoga range. I have the 12kg, 15kg, 20kg and 26kg models (all around 5'6") and they are superb. Ultra thin diameter and super strong. Re: Jigging Blanks

Chris what specific jigging do you recommend the Xzoga blanks for as the two i will be building are specifically for Demersal Jigging with Fanky jigs (slow jiging) not speed jigging with knife jigs?
Kevin can you provide me with your email address as i am keen to ask you a few questions? Stu Re: Jigging Blanks

Look at Spinal Rods, Jigging Master, Oti when the new series comes out in a couple months, Synit if you are wealthy and American Tackle Bushido Warrior series. A little more explanation on the type of action you are looking for, jig weights used, drag used and targeted species will help a lot. Re: Jigging Blanks
