Women builders

As I walked around the Showplace I was surprised and pleased to see the amount of women builders on the floor. I have been trying to teach my other half to attempt some builds. She is constantly in my shop checking out my new creations and now wants to try her hand at it. I'm just a little surprised to see the other side in a male dominated sport.

I think my wife had fun going around shopping for me. I gave her my list and she went to work. I was helping out at Get Bit Outdoors and I have to say that my wife did a great job at finding stuff for me, even though she didn't know what some of the stuff was like a "PG Can", I couldn't have done it without her.

There's a lot more than most of us think. It's always a mistake to think that all the woman who attend are wives walking the hall with their rod building husbands. Quite often, what you're seeing is husbands walking the floor with their rod building wives.

I was corrected more than a few times this weekend when I spoke to the husband only to find out it was his wife that was the rod building half of the family.

Behind every great man is a woman telling him what to do. Remember that.

Robert,
If you look at most of the big rod factories, you will find that most of the hands wrapping those millions of rods are female.

yea...my wife has shown interested, she even wrapped a couple of guides on the rod I...errr...WE built for her. She interjects alot when it comes to combining and contrasting colors. Many, many, moon's ago when I was a pipe welder, I was surprised to see women welders, but as it turns out women welders actually have a steadier hand than most men I've seen that have been welding for 30+ years.

I am never surprised to find women in any profession these days. They bring a different perspective to the craft. My wife enjoys helping me sometimes. She is better with contrasting colors than I am. She also is a good critic in that she seldom tells me I did something wrong--it usually is that I could do it better.

Woman in general are geared mentally to tedious tasks than men are. I am trying to get ny better
half to paint my rod tips for me. She has a Steiner hand than I do. I can thread a sewing machine while it's running I shake so much.lol
