Hi All,
I am building an MHX P842-2 popping blank for light to medium inshore and estuary fishing, using both braid and mono. Initially I was going to put the PacBay LCSVCG guides on, but just came across the Minima 4 when I was putting together my order. I am not familiar with the Minima 4, but I have seen many people on the forum speak about them, so I was wondering what the benefits compared to the LCSVCG guides are, apart from how much cheaper they are. The guide sizes I was going to use are 25,16,10,6,6,6,6,6,TT. What would the equivilent sizes be in the Minima 4. Also I remember reading somewhere that they can be noisey - if so, in what way? Thanks, Richard Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/05/2012 09:19AM by Richard Khoury. Re: Minima 4 or LCSVCG

Ceramic guides are "quieter" than rings of hard chrome or steel as line passes over them. This is particularly true when used with a fly line.

You'll find that a Minima 4 size 4 has about the same opening as a ceramic size 6. George Forster Fort Collins, CO Re: Minima 4 or LCSVCG

Richard,
Either guide will work well for your rod. Roger Re: Minima 4 or LCSVCG

I really do like the Minima for its weight vs ring inner diameter. About the same as the lightest titanium fuji SICs. That's if weight matters to you.
