I am getting ready to build my first rod and just recieved my blank.A Lamiglas ISU1202MH.Whenever possible i try to buy products made in the USA. When i unwraped my new blank i was dismayed to see a made in China sticker. How can Lamiglas advertise made in America blanks when this is apparently not the case? thanks to everyone for the information here and in Rodmaker Magazine, which is making this venture possible for me. P.S. my wife is mad at all of you Re: Made in America ???

Many, if not most, of the Lamiglas blanks are indeed made in America, right there in Woodland, WA. Like many companies, they produce at least some of their product overseas which allows them to better compete in some of the lower price points.

David just tell her that rodbuilding will keep you at home. Just don't tell her you will have to go on more fishing trips for testing.

The first letter "I" stands for International (a.k.a. made overseas) ... that's all you need to know to decipher the Lamiglas place of origin. When in doubt, ask the manufacturer OR the distributor. By law, they have to disclose the manufacturing origin. Re: Made in America ???

Hi Tom,
I think that Lamiglas calls their imported blanks "international" blanks. Mike Blomme Re: Made in America ???

Thanks. My guess is that if it doesn't say "made in the USA" it was made elsewhere.
