Rainshadow RCLB series is popular with the catfish crowd. They are a nice live bait blank at an attractive price. I like them for salt water fishing in my area. The XL will fish 17# perfectly and each notch up in power gains about 5#'s more strength. The tip is a little light for tossing heavy loads. The XL is fine for 2 ounces but I wouldn't through 4 and bait with it. The ML should be about right for decent sized fish in the 20-40 pound range and 4 ounce sinkers.

I've sold a couple of Seeker Hercules inshore HEavies to guys looking for stout Catfish rods. The 7'er weighs 7oz, and since it's a composte rod it has quite a bit of cushion compared to graphite rods of the same 30-60# rating, but the rod feels like graphite and does not have teh usual soft floppy tip that many composite rods have. I have these in stock in 7' in grey & red, in 8' I have a GRey one, and I have a 9'er in REd. HEre's a link to my site with these blanks and thier specs, along with some pics of the rod on som eSW fish: [northeastrodbuilders.com]
